Businessman robbed of Rs.200,000 at gunpoint in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A businessman was robbed of cash and mobile recharge coupons worth over Rs.200,000 Friday in GT Road Industrial area in Ghaziabad, the police said.

Naresh Rohela, a distributor of mobile phone and recharge coupons, visited some retail outlets on GT Road and collected the outstanding cash from them, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Akhil Kumar said.

When he came out of a mobile showroom in the area and was walking to his motorcycle, three criminals on a motorcycle stopped him and at gunpoint snatched from him the bag containing cash and recharge coupons. They drove away towards Delhi.

Rohela said the bag contained Rs.60,000 in cash from the market and recharge coupons worth Rs.160,000. He informed the police of the robbery. The SSP visited the spot and dispatched police teams in different directions, but no arrests have been made yet.
