Nanded riots accused released on bail

Mumbai: All the accused arrested in connection with the recently occurred Nanded riots were released yesterday after the local court granted them bail on March 17.

The accused were reportedly produced before the local court of magistrate N B Ghosh who granted them bail on a personal bond of Rs 7,500.

The police had arrested 29 Muslims and 6 non-Muslims in a communal clash Nanded district witnessed on March 13 after the controversial Ram Mandir CD was played in front of Aabideen Masjid during the Shiv Jayanti procession.

All the accused were arrested by Shivaji Nagar Police station and charged under different sections of IPC.

On the demand from the local Muslims and Muslim organizations, the Maharashtra government has ordered a probe in the case.
