Tendulkar scores 42nd Test century, India 384 for five at lunch

Hamilton : Sachin Tendulkar scored his 42nd Test century to take India to 384 for five at lunch in reply to New Zealand’s 279 on the third day of the first cricket Test here at Seddon park Thursday.

Tendulkar was batting on 135 and with him at the break was skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on 22 as India lead by 105 runs.

The only wicket to fall in the session that produced 106 runs in 32.1 overs was of Yuvraj Singh bowled shouldering arms to Chris Martin.
