Rain plays peek-a-boo over capital

By IANS,

New Delhi : The pleasant weather and sudden drizzle in some parts of the capital took many by surprise early Wednesday. However, to the disappointment of others, the weather soon changed, and it was back to the heat.

According to an official of the meteorological department, the unseasonal rain was because of a low pressure zone being created over Delhi and its adjoining areas.

“Because of cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, a low pressure zone got created over northern India. This caused sudden but light rainfall.

“The forecast further shows that the capital will have cloudy skies today (Wednesday) and there may be a possibility of more rain,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The minimum temperature recorded early Wednesday was four notches above average at 19.7 degree Celsius.
