Congress, JMM for ‘friendly fight’ on two Jharkhand seats

Ranchi : The Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) have agreed to a seat sharing deal in all but two Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand and have decided to go for a “friendly fight” in these seats, leaders of the two parties said here Thursday.

“We have evolved a consensus on 12 Lok Sabha seats of the state. There is a dispute over two seats and we will go for friendly fight on both of them,” said state Congress president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu in a joint press conference with JMM vice president Sudhir Mahto.

“We will try to sort out our differences till last date of the nomination,” he said.

As per seat sharing agreement the Congress will field candidates in seven seats and the JMM in five. The parties have failed to agree on Koderma and Hazaribagh seats.
