Arun Jaitley launches BJP campaign in Bihar

By IANS,

Patna : Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Arun Jaitley Friday launched his party’s election campaign in Bihar and called the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) an “opportunistic” combine.

“The UPA is no longer united ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. It has proved to be an opportunistic alliance, unlike the NDA (National democratic Alliance) which is united and strong,” Jaitley said at a public meeting in Gaya, about 100 km from here.

The meeting was attended by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and three state ministers.

Jaitley said the UPA hardly exists in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, and this will be an advantage to the NDA.

“The Congress is fighting for its survival in these states. A divided UPA is bound to help NDA win more seats.”
