New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called on President Pratibha Patil Tuesday on the eve of the fifth and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
“Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called on President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The meeting lasted for about 30 minutes. They discussed about various issues of national and international importance and also president’s recent state visits to Spain and Poland,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.
The prime minister’s meeting with the president comes four days before the results of the Lok Sabha polls which are widely expected to lead to a hung parliament.
In such a situation all eyes will be on the president who will decide who to invite to form a government.
