New Delhi: Senior Congress strategists, including Pranab Mukherjee and A.K. Antony, met Thursday night at the party headquarters here to discuss on how to cobble up the required magic 272 figure by wooing potential allies to form a new government.
“It was a meeting to discuss the party strategy for the formation of government,” a source at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters told IANS.
Besides Defence Minister A.K. Antony and External Affair Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the meeting was attended by Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh and senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The Congress is holding high level meetings to discuss the modalities of post-poll formulations to woo political parties, amid indications of a fractured mandate in the Lok Sabha elections results, which would be declared Saturday.
