Metro services from 4.30 a.m. on counting day

New Delhi : Metro services will start one-and-a-half hours earlier Saturday to enable election officials involved in counting of votes to reach their destinations early.

“In view of counting for Lok Sabha elections, Metro train services will start early from 4.30 a.m. on May 16 (Saturday) to facilitate the movement of counting staff,” said a release issued by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) here Friday.

The frequency of the trains will be 15 minutes at all stations till 6.00 a.m after which the normal five to 10 minute frequency will be followed, it added.

The DMRC had also started metro services early (from 4.00 a.m. onwards) on polling day May 7, to facilitate travel for officers on poll duty.
