Patna: Though BJP has been rejected by majority of Indian people in this Lok Sabha elections as its policies of hatred and communalism have been thrown to the wall, BJP workers on ground level are yet to learn lessons from the defeat. Showing their menace some BJP workers attacked four Muslim families and brutally beat them up on the counting day in Karnataka.

On 16th May a group of BJP workers celebrating the victory of party candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel attacked four Muslim families at Nettrakere in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka, says The Hindu.

Three persons were critically injured and have been admitted to a hospital. According to Mr. Aboobaker, a shopkeeper, he was passing by Navodaya Mitra Kala Vrunda building where some BJP supporters were bursting crackers to celebrate Mr. Kateel’s victory. Damodar and Santu, who were in the group, caught him by the collar without any provocation and accused him of making a false claim that a borewell had been sunk in the area by a Congress leader.

When Mr. Aboobaker managed to free himself out of their clutches and ran towards the house of his relative Shamshir, a group of around 50 to 60 people came after him.

Mr. Shamshir locked the front door of the house as soon as Aboobaker entered the house. But the mob allegedly broke the back door and entered the house carrying lathis, soda bottles, cricket bats and cycle chains and beat up Mr. Aboobaker and Shamshir as well as destroyed the expensive goods of the house.

Seeing the dangerous mood of attackers when Mr. Shamshir and Mr. Aboobaker ran towards the houses of Shameem and Imtiyaz, the attackers went after them.

Mr. Aboobaker somehow succeeded to flee from the place then the attackers started to beat Imtiyaz, Shameem and his brother, Mohammaed Haneef. Later they were rushed to the hospital where they are under treatment.

The Bantwal police have registered a case and arrested four persons in this regard.
