New Delhi: Popular Front of India has announced a National Public Health Campaign to be held during 1-15 November 2009. The aim of the campaign is to create public awareness about the importance of physical and health care and also people’s role in keeping the environment clean, pollution free and hygienic.

During the campaign PFI will conduct various programs in all states where it has units and cadres. The programs include classes and demonstrations on environmental protection, disease prevention, yoga, physical exercises and right food habits. Sports and games events, mass cleaning of public places, cultural programs like documentary shows and street dramas are also planned. Wall posters, hand bills and booklets on exercises and health prepared by the organization will be circulated in different languages like English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam etc.

“The campaign to be held with cooperation of local education and health department officers will further strengthen the government level public health efforts,” says a PFI release.

The National Executive Council (NEC) of Popular Front in a meeting held in New Delhi gave a final shape to the campaign program.

“The NEC meeting also decided to observe Dec 6, the anniversary day of Babri Masjid demolition as Anti-Fascist Day. This nation-wide campaign will focus on the follow up action regarding the findings of Liberhan Commission which probed the Babri Masjid demolition.

Chairman E. M. Abdul Rahiman presided the NEC meeting. General Secretary K. M. Shareef presented the reports. Those who attended the meeting include A. Saeed, E. Abubacker, Dr. Mehboob Shareef, Sheik Muhammed Dahlan Baqavi, Moulana Usman Baig, Muhammed Ali Jinnah, V. P. Nasruddin, K. Abdul Lathif and Ya Moideen.
