Bhopal : A Forest Crime Information Centre has been set up in Madhya Pradesh to check crimes related to forests and wildlife, officials said Tuesday.

The centre has been set up at newly inducted Forest Minister Sartaj Singh’s behest. He has also appealed to people to actively cooperate in curbing forest and wildlife related crimes, said an official of the forest department.

A toll free number, 155312, has also been started for information on crimes related to forests and wildlife.

“Anyone can give information related to the cutting of forests, stealing of wood, encroachment in forests, fire incident in forests or poaching of animals on the given number round the clock and if the information is found to be correct, the informer will be rewarded. His identity will also be kept secret,” he said.
