Parthiv Patel slams century, Gujarat takes lead against Hyderabad

New Delhi: Gujarat skipper and wicketkeeeper Parthiv Patel slammed a century against Hyderabad to give his team the first innings lead on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Super League match at Hyderabad Thursday.

Resuming at their overnight score of 209 for seven, Hyderabad could add a mere 27 runs with Siddharth Trivedi finishing with the figures of five for 39. At stumps, Gujarat were 243 for four with Bhavik Thaker batting at 37 and Digant Popat 3.

Gujarat lost both their openers for 59 but Parthiv (105) and Niraj Patel (58) added 135 runs for the third wicket to tilt the momentum in visitors’s favour.

Parthiv’s 142 balls innings included eight fours and a six.

At Mumbai, the hosts set Himachal Pradesh a victory target of 252 runs. Ajit Agarkar made an unbeaten 102 in Mumbai’s 335 for seven in the second innings.
