Lucknow: A seven-year-old old boy was kidnapped early Friday from Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district and was found hours later in the afternoon outside a mall in Kanpur city, police said.
Piyush Kumar was waiting for his school bus at 7 a.m. in the morning when four young men in a car kidnapped him. He was later found in Kanpur city, about 100 km from Jalaun.
“Some people noticed Piyush sitting outside Rave Moti Mall (in Kanpur) crying. The police were informed and Piyush is with us. His parents have been informed and they will be reaching here by (Friday) evening,” Kanpur Superintendent of Police D.K. Chaudhary told IANS by phone.
“No ransom calls were made to Piyush’s parents and it’s still not clear why the youths kidnapped the boy,” he added.
“We have obtained CCTV camera footage that shows a tall youth, wearing a cap, leaving Piyush outside the mall. Besides, the boy has also given us vital clues,” Chaudhary added.
