Ghaziabad: A truck driver was killed Monday when his vehicle collided with another truck on a flyover in Ghaziabad that was opened for trial run three days ago, officials said.
The accident occurred early Monday when a truck going from the city side to Mohan Nagar collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction, police said.
The driver of the first truck sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the other truck fled from the spot and the police are trying to nab him.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) denied that there was anything wrong with the flyover or that the accident occurred because of the way it was constructed.
This was the third accident on the under-trial flyover in three days.
