Delhi University asked to give migration certificate to student

By IANS,

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court Tuesday interceded on behalf of a student, asking Delhi University (DU) and Swami Shraddhanand College to issue migration certificate to her so that she could shift to another college.

Justice Geeta Mittal asked the Swami Shraddhanand College to issue migration certificate to Neelam Chopra so that she can get admission in Kirorimal College.

Chopra, a second year B.A (H) Geography student of Swami Shraddhanand College who wanted

to migrate to Kirorimal College which is nearer her home in north Delhi, had approached the court since the college was not issuing her a migration certificate.

Her counsel, Ashok Agarwal, pleaded that as she suffers allergic rhinitis, her doctors have advised her to travel less. She is also myopic and cannot see bus numbers easily and thus wanted to migrate to the other college.

However, despite several requests, Swami Shraddhanand College did not issue her a migration certificate, delaying her admission in Kirorimal College.
