Fiqh Academy to hold seminar on economic empowerment of Indian Muslims

New Delhi: The Islamic Fiqh Academy (India) is going to organize a two-day national seminar on Economic Empowerment of Indian Muslims: Problems and Prospects in New Delhi starting from October 24.

The seminar will be inaugurated by K. Rahman Khan, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha and presided over by Maulana Sayyed Mohammad Rabey Hasani Nadwi, President, All India Muslim Personal Law Board. The Chief Guest will be Mohammad Shafi Qureshi, Chairman, National Commission for Minority. The program will start at 09:30 am on October 24, 2009 at Hamdard Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi.

Special address on the topic will be given by Prof. M. Nijatullah Siddiqui, Former Head, Dept. of Economics, AMU, Aligarh while keynote address by Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, General Secretary, Islamic Fiqh Academy. Guest of honor will be Dr. Saami Mohammad Al-Sulaiman, Ambassador of Kuwait, New Delhi.

Other dignitaries who will attend the conference include Dr. Badar Faleh Al-Azmi, Director of Islamic Encyclopedia & Research Dept., Kuwait, Dr. Khalid Shoaib, Faculty of Education, University of Kuwait, Maulana Mohammad Salim Qasmi, Vice President, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Dr. G.N. Qazi, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, Maulana Asrarul Haq Qasmi, Member of Parliament, Abdur Rahim Qureshi, President, All India Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat, Hyderabad and Kamal Farooqi, Chairman of Minority Commission, Delhi State.
