In a circular issued to stock exchanges and market participants, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said: “It has been decided to permit the stock exchanges to set their trading hours (in the cash and derivatives segments) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.”

Currently, trading hours are from 9.55 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
