Islamabad : Welcoming Indian Prime Minister Manmohan’s recent statement voicing a desire to restart dialogue with Pakistan, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said Thursday that Islamabad has been consistently calling for settlement of disputes through negotiations.

It is a good omen that Indian PM wants to hold peaceful dialogue with Pakistan, he said while talking to PTV.

Being neighbours, India and Pakistan should resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue in order to pave the way for regional peace and prosperity, Kaira said.

About relations with US, he said the two countries may have difference of opinion on certain issues but they hold the same position on anti-terrorism war.

To a question the Minister said that Pakistan wants market access for its exportable stuff in Europe and America and discussions are going on in this regard. The matter has also been discussed with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Answering another question, the Minister said that operation in SW is going on successfully against the militants and many areas have been secured from their occupation.

The militants have suffered large number of casualties in the operation, he said.
