New Delhi : Delhi Police Tuesday brought back the 16-year-old student of Delhi Public School (DPS) from Mumbai where she had fled apparently to meet her boyfriend.

The girl, a student of Class 11 of DPS R.K. Puram, went missing Aug 29 from the house of her local guardian Sandeep Sinha in the New Friends Colony in south Delhi. The girl was staying in the hostel of DPS R.K. Puram and come to Sinha’s house on the weekends.

Sinha complained to the police that the girl had been kidnapped.

“The family suspected that the girl could have gone to Mumbai to meet her friend who works in an entertainment channel. We had already alerted the Mumbai police. The girl had reached Mumbai by train. A police team was sent to Mumbai, and brought the girl back to Delhi,” a senior police officer said.

“The girl is a native of Satna in Madhya Pradesh. Her parents are doctors and also run a hospital in Satna. The boy also belongs to Satna and both know each other,” the police officer added.

Further investigations in the matter are on.
