No trace of 6 men kidnapped by Maoists in Bihar

By IANS,

Patna : Three days after six guards of a construction firm were kidnapped by suspected Maoist guerrillas in Bihar’s Jamui district, police have failed to make any breakthrough to rescue them.

“A hunt has been launched to look for the kidnapped men but there has been no breakthrough so far,” a police officer said.

The families of six kidnapped employees working for a private construction company are worried over the delay despite police assurances and are running from pillar to post in the offices of the district authorities.

“There is no trace of the kidnapped men till date, police are only asking us to have faith,” said Subhas Singh, a relative of one of the kidnapped guards.

Police have admitted that Maoist guerrillas kidnapped the six men after their employer failed to fulfil the demands of the rebels.

A group of armed guerrillas had attacked the office of Subhash Projects and Marketing Ltd, a Kolkata based private road construction firm in Jamui district, and kidnapped the guards.
