New Delhi : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat Friday met former prime minister Atal Bihari Vaypayee to inquire about his health and discuss the current political situation in the country.
A statement issued by the RSS, the ideological mentor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said Bhagwat “met Vajpayee to know about his health and discuss contemporary issues”.
Veteran BJP leader Vajpayee, 85, is currently not into active politics because of health reasons.
Last week Bhagwat met a string of BJP leaders and intervened in the party’s affairs after it was thrown into turmoil after it dramatically expelled veteran MP and former cabinet minister Jaswant Singh for writing in his latest book that Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah had been unfairly demonised in India.
