Malappuram: The Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad has postponed the Qur’an Exhibition planned to be held from 4th to 12th of this month. The decision was taken due to the sudden demise of the state Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The exhibition will be held after 10 days, informed the director of the museum.

The exhibition titled “Exegesis of Holy Qur’an” was to be organized by the museum as part of its educational and cultural activities.
Rare printed copies of the Qur’an from Germany, England, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and India would be exhibited in the show. Other specialty is miniature copies of the Qur’an of 2.5 cms. The exhibition would also consist of a copy of the Qur’an printed in Iran in the 18th century and decorated with gold. Embellishments of Kashmiri artists add beauty to the copy. A copy of the Qur’an written by Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb, with his autograph, is yet another peculiarity of the exhibition. The 94 codices of Qur’an display include the digital images of the Qur’an from different parts of the world.
