Burglary at President’s Estate

By IANS,

New Delhi : A health centre inside the high security President’s Estate in the national capital was burgled, police said Sunday.

According to police, a computer and three pairs of dumb bells were stolen Wednesday night.

“We received a complaint on Thursday about the incident. The health centre’s caretaker Tasmim Ahmed told us that due to heavy rains on Wednesday night, there was water logging inside the centre and to clear that the Central Public Works Department sent a person named Chandrashekhar,” a police officer said.

The caretaker said that Chandrashekhar took the keys to the centre and then returned them when his work was over. When the caretaker came to the centre Thursday morning, he discovered that the place had been burgled, police said.

“Ahmed discovered that the lights of medical officer Wing Commander Vikram Dutta’s office were on and his computer was missing,” the officer said.
