Stop harassing Pakistan, Qureshi tells India

By IANS,

Lahore : Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Thursday “India cannot harass Pakistan with pessimistic statements”, and underlined that the dialogue process is the only way forward to resolve a crisis between the two countries, the Online news agency reported.

“If India thinks that it can suppress us with aggressive statements, then it is living in a fool’s world,” the report said citing Qureshi.

The Pakistan-India dialogue process is imperative to solve all outstanding issues, he said, adding that peace cannot be restored in South Asia without durable solution to Kashmir.

“If the Indian government thinks that it can harass us with pessimistic statements, then they are totally wrong as Pakistan will not come under any cloud of threat whatsoever,” Qureshi told reporters at the Allama Iqbal International Airport before leaving for London Thursday.

The remarks came while the Pakistani authorities moved to file two separate cases against Hafiz Saeed, the alleged mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

The cases were filed in two police stations in Faisalabad on the basis of sermons Saeed made recently, expressing his grave concerns over the stand by India, Israel and the US on Pakistan’s nuclear assets.

During his sermons at iftar parties Aug 26 and 27 in Faisalabad,

he also expressed concern over change in the Pakistani government’s Kashmir policy.

Hafiz Saeed has also been indicted on “charges of appealing for jihad fund” despite a strict ban on such appeals, the Online said.
