Mumbai : A key index of Indian equities markets recouped its day’s losses in the afternoon trade Friday to end 20 points in the green.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened lower at 16,650.05 points points, closed at 16,731.37 points, up 20.26 points or 0.12 percent.
The index had hit a low of 16,610.05 point around noon on profit booking.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended marginally in the green at 4975.95 points, down 0.21 percent.
Broader market indices also ended in the positive terrain, with the BSE midcap index closing 0.38 percent higher and the BSE smallcap index up 0.64 percent.
