The storm battered the central Vietnamese provinces of Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Yen Bai, Kon Tum, and Dak Lak. Binh Dinh and Kon Tum are the worst affected provinces, Vietnam News Agency reported, citing disaster relief officials.

In Binh Dinh province, the storm destroyed over 100 houses. More than 6,400 hectares of agricultural crops damaged and over 100 hectares of shrimp cultivation were flooded. The storm also snapped electricity lines and affected road services.

In Kon Tum province, hundreds of houses and schools were destroyed. Thousands of crops were also submerged.

The provincial authorities are collaborating with the military, police, coast guards and health personnel to help the affected people.
