New Delhi: Pleasant weather greeted Delhiites Wednesday, but the mercury soon rose to above-average level, and the Met Office forecast an even warmer weather Thursday.
“The minimum temperature recorded this morning was a degree above the average at 19.6 degrees Celsius,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said here.
“The day temperature, however, soon rose by four degrees above the average to 38.8 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
In the past week, the rising mercury in the capital has left residents sweating and yearning for respite. Wednesday’s pleasant morning was a welcome change.
“On Thursday, the temperatures will increase slightly — the minimum and maximum are expected to be 22 and 39 degrees Celsius respectively,” the official said.
