Patna: In a landmark decision yesterday the Bihar government decided to provide a piece of land to Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, full twelve years after it was set up. The state Cabinet in a meeting presided by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 27th April sanctioned Rs. 8.32 crore for the purpose. Hopefully, the university will have now its own land and shed.

It is to be noted here that Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University was established in 1998 in Patna by the Bihar Government in the name of great freedom fighter Maulana Mazharul Haque. The university started academic activities in 2006, and in 2008 classes were started. But still it has not its own building and land and functioning at a kuccha house at Beily Road in Patna.

The cabinet has also granted Rs. 400.40 crore to provide uniforms to school boys and girls of class 3rd to 5th while Rs. 500.72 crore has been allotted for students of class 6th and 7th. Boys and girls of class 9th will get Rs. 2000 each for cycle. For that cabinet granted Rs.72 crore and Rs. 98 crore respectively. Under these schemes for the first time Madarsa students will also be benefited.

The cabinet also decided to offer job to divorced daughters of slain government employees.
