Germany’s Sidka to train Iraqi national football team: report

Berlin : Former German Bundesliga player Wolfgang Sidka has signed a one-year deal to coach the the Iraqi national football, the online site of the weekly sports magazine kicker reported Monday.

This is Sidka’s second stop as a national football coach, after having trained Bahrain from 2000 to 2002.

The 56-year-old coach has also previously trained two clubs in Qatar.

Iraq will begin its Asian Cup defense in Group D with Iran, North Korea and the United Arab Emirates in January 2011.
