New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday said that each of its MPs will contribute Rs.10,000 towards providing relief in Leh where flash floods have caused the death of at least 165 people.

Briefing reporters after the BJP parliamentary party meeting Tuesday, party leader Gopinath Munde said that the members expressed concern over the loss of life and property in Friday’s floods. He said that rescue workers were facing difficulties and labourers from other states had been stuck in the area.

Munde said that each MP will contribute Rs.10,000 for relief effort and the MPs will also seek permission for giving part of the money from their Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) for relief efforts.
