New Delhi : Delhi reported 26 new cases of dengue Friday, taking the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease in the city to 329 this year, an official said.
“Twenty-six people tested positive for dengue in Delhi today (Friday) but no deaths were reported,” said N.K. Yadav, chief medical officer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
However, 599 cases of dengue have been reported by a private hospital — Holy Family Hospital of south Delhi.
According to the MCD health officials, one person has died due to dengue this year in Delhi. Three more deaths, suspected to be from dengue, have also been reported from the national capital but authorities are yet to ascertain the cause.
Jamia Nagar, Okhla in south Delhi and Shahdara in east Delhi have reported the maximum number of dengue cases.
