New Delhi : It was a cool and cloudy Sunday morning in Delhi and the weatherman said parts of the city could see heavy rainfall during the day.
“The skies will remain cloudy and some parts of the city are expected to get one or two spells of heavy rainfall or thundershowers,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Continuous rains had disrupted normal life for commuters Saturday with flooding in low-lying areas causing traffic snarls in many places. Yamuna flowed almost above the danger mark, posing danger to low-lying localities.
According to the met department, the city received 44.1 mm rainfall from Saturday morning till 8.30 a.m. Sunday.
Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.8 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season, while the maximum is expected to hover around 29 degrees, the IMD official said.
The humidity levels were on the higher side with the maximum recorded at 98 percent and the minimum at 94 percent.
The city has received a total 644.1 mm of rainfall this monsoon.
