New Delhi : The Indian subsidiary of Swedish Volvo Buses Thursday said it is expecting a 25-30 per cent increase in revenue in 2010 due to the rise in sales in its private coach segment.
“We are seeing a period of growth in the the private coach sector which is now making a comeback. We expect a rise of 25-30 percent in our revenue due to this growth,” said Akash Passey, managing director, Volvo Buses, on the sidelines of an automobiles conference.
Passey said the company sold 535 units last year, 80 percent of which were city buses bought for public transport.
“We expect to sell around 550-600 units this year. The majority of sales of about 70 percent will come from private coaches while the rest will come from the public sector,” Passey added.
