New Delhi : Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel Friday said that his minsitry would soon set up a civil aviation security advisory council to strenthen the security apparatus of the sector.
He made the announcement at the meeting of the parliamentary consultative committee attached to his ministry.
“The minister informed the members that a lot of work was also being done on the safety and security aspect of the sector. In this context, he announced that the ministry would soon set up a civil aviation security advisory council,” said a official statement.
According to Patel, the council would be constituted along the lines of the recently set up civil aviation economic advisory council (CAEAC) and civil aviation safety advisory council (CASAC).
“This was being done because security is one of the most important aspect of civil aviation and had to be given due importance with contribution from all stakeholders,” the statement said.
