Dhaka, Bangladesh : President Zillur Rahman today laid emphasis on increasing number of seats for the students at the country’s public universities for expanding opportunities of higher education.
The President made the remarks while a three-member delegation of Khulna University led by its Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Saifuddin Shah called on him at Bangabhaban. Pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr Purnendu Gain and Treasurer Fakir Abu Hossain also accompanied the delegation.
During the meeting, President Zillur Rahman lauded the role of university for keeping it free from session jam. “Other universities could follow the punctuality in academic management of this university in this regard,” he observed.
Vice chancellor Prof Dr M Saifuddin Shah apprised to the president that local people always cooperate with the university authority to continue the congenial atmosphere of academic system which is totally free from politics.
“We are able to take all examinations and publish its result on schedule time because of the session jam free atmosphere,” he said.
The KU delegation invited the president to preside over its upcoming 4th convocation to be held sometimes on mid of March.
Secretaries to the president office were present at the meeting.
