Imam Khomeini’s return from exile commemorated

Tehran : A ceremony to commemorate the historical return to the country of the late Imam Khomeini from exile was held at the Behesht-e Zahra cemetery in southern Tehran on Monday.

Addressing the ceremony, the Supreme Leader’s advisor and the chairman of the Cultural Commission of Majlis Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel briefed the audience on developments which took place in the country in the past three decades.

Haddad-Adel further underlined the need for following the guidelines of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on different issues.

A number of senior officials of the country along with a large group of people attended the ceremony which was covered by several domestic and foreign journalists and photographers.

The Father of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, arrived in Iran on February 1, 1979, from exile in Paris. The late Imam went to the Behesht-e Zahra cemetery to visit the tombs of the Revolution’s martyrs right after his arrival in Tehran.

Imam’s arrival till the victory of the Islamic Revolution (on February 11) is dubbed as ‘Ten-Day Dawn’ and is celebrated each year.
