Mumbai : A benchmark index for Indian equities pared most of its losses by early Monday afternoon, moving to within 28 points below its previous close, having fallen over 263 points in the morning session.
At 1.37 p.m., the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened weak at 15,931.34 points, was ruling at 15,887.18 points, down 28.47 points or 0.18 percent from its previous close at 15,915.65 points.
It had fallen over 263 points in the late morning session to 15,651.99 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was at 4,744.1 points, against the previous close at 4,757.25 points, a loss of 0.28 percent or 13.15 points.
