Tehran : Canada’s Charge d’Affaires to Tehran was summoned to Foreign Ministry Wednesday evening in protest at former Canadian ambassador’s clandestine ties with CIA.
According to the Information and Media Department of the Foreign Ministry, Managing Director for North American Continent Affairs delivered a protest letter to the Canadian diplomat about the violation.
The Iranian diplomat also told him, “The former Canadian envoy’s behavior equaled breaching the Vienna Convention regarding the diplomatic norms, which is why the Canadian government should present a convincing explanation to Tehran respectively.”
The Canadian Charge d’Affaires, too, after hearing the Foreign Ministry official’s remarks emphasized he would discuss the matter with the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and deliver their reply to him at earliest possible time.
