India’s Kendirya Hindi Sansthan offers scholarship for Hindi learners

Kuala Lumpur : The Kendirya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi) Agra, India is offering scholarships to Malaysians who are interested in learning Hindi for the academic year 2010-11.

The High Commission of India, in a statement today, said selected candidates would be granted admission by the institute at its headquarters at Agra.

The institute would also make efforts to provide hostel accommodation to selected candidates at nominal charges.

They would also be eligible to receive monthly scholarship worth 3,500 Rupees (Rm 257.51) and books grant of 1,000 Rupees(rm73.59) per annum, it said.

These scholarships were for the duration of eight months commencing on Aug 1 this year to April 30 next year, it said.

The students should only return to their country after the completion of their studies, the statement said.

Applicants, aged between 21 and 35 years, should have studied Hindi for at least one or two years and have completed STPM or equivalent.

The scholarship forms can be obtained from the Education Wing at the High Commission of India, No 2, Jalan Taman Duta, Off Jalan Duta, 50480, Kuala Lumpur (Telefax: 03-2092 2339 Tel: 03-20933510 ext 410) or it can be downloaded from www.indianhighcommissioner.com.my.

Completed application should be submitted either directly or by post to the High Commission the latest by April 30.
