Pakistan: President condemns beheading of kidnapped Sikh, abduction of Hindu

Islamabad : Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has denounced the beheading of a kidnapped Sikh in Tirah valley of Khyber agency after his relatives reportedly fail to pay ransom money to the abductors.

Jaspal Singh and two other Sikhs were kidnapped from Chora Tanga area of Tirah two weeks ago.

Reportedly the kidnappers had demanded Rs 20 million by February 20 for Jaspal’s release. Two other Sikhs are still in captivity.

The President while strongly condemning the incident asked the authorities to investigate and take stern action against the kidnappers in accordance with the law.

The President also directed that effective measures be taken to stop the recurrence of such incidents in the future.

The President also condemned the kidnapping of a Hindu Mr. Robinsingh on Friday last by unknown kidnappers and asked the authorities to take steps for the soft recovery of the abducted Robinsingh.

Robinsingh was abducted from a market on the university road Peshawar in broad daylight.
