Bhubaneshwar, India : Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama today said all problems should be solved through peaceful means as violence has no power to settle issues.
“We should have control over our frustration and anger which often lead to violence. We must work hard to bring peace in society and among communities,” the spiritual leader, who arrived here on a four-day visit to Orissa, told reporters.
Genuine peace must come from inner self. Indian tradition is based on non-violence and mutual respect. The constitution of the country also guarantee equality and freedom, he said.
“There is no harm when politicians resort to demonstrations to highlight some problems, but violence should not occur at all,” the Buddhist monk said.
Referring to Maoists, he said, “Violence is not the proper way to solve problems. Though there is exploitation in the society, the solution should always be found through non-violent means.
