New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sunday condoled the death of Marxist leader Jyoti Basu, saying the country had lost a committed and principled politician.
In a condolence message, RSS general secretary Suresh ‘Bhaiyaji’ Joshi said the news of the demise of the legendary Communist leader and former West Bengal chief minister had saddened the countrymen.
He said Basu had led a life committed to Communism and Marxism. “In his long years of political struggle, he had vigorously pursued his ideology, when in power or out of it,” he said, adding: “The country has lost a committed and principled politician.”
