Kolkata : Maoists pose the biggest challenge to infrastructure development in several states, Minister of State for Urban Development Sougata Roy said here Thursday.
“West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and Chhattisgarh are all Maoist-affected. This extremist outfit poses the biggest challenge in building infrastructure in these states,” Roy said at seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Maintaining that the central forces have taken the initiative to root out the outfit, he added: “The longer we take to do this, there is a possibility more people will get attracted to such outfits.”
