No change in US government’s approach towards Iran

By IRNA,

Tehran : No change has been observed yet in the US administration’s approach towards Iran one year after President Barack Obama has come to power, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said Tuesday.

“One year after Barack Obama’s presidency, the new US government’s approach towards Iran was not different from that of the George W. Bush and the US government is now pursuing the same policy which was already used by the Republicans,” the spokesman said.

Speaking at his weekly press briefing, Mihman-Parast said that even the American people have acknowledged that there was no change in the policies of their new government towards Iran.

He added that the new US government has not even changed its policies at the international arena.

“If the White House was to change its approach at international circles, including the United Nations, it could be seen as taking into consideration the Goldstone’s report on the Zionist regime’s crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip,” Mihman-Parast argued, referring to the report presented in Geneva on 29 September 2009 to the UN Human Rights Council by Head of the UN Fact Finding Mission Justice Richard Goldstone.

”The US government’s indifference towards Goldstone’s report and its double standard policy as well as its support for the Zionist regime have all indicated that President Obama’s administration has not even changed its approach towards international events,” Mihman-Parast stressed.
