Srinagar : A 25-year old woman was killed after security forces allegedly opened fire at demonstrators protesting the similar death of a man Tuesday.
Fancy was hit by a bullet in the chest in Batamaloo area in the west of the city, a police officer said. She was taken to a hospital where doctors declared her dead.
This is the second killing allegedly by security forces since morning in the area.
Earlier, 30-year-old Fayaz Ahmed Wani, a government employee, died of a bullet injury in a clash with security forces who fired to disperse a mob protesting the drowning of a teenager after he was chased by troopers Monday.
