Raipur: Naya Raipur, the upcoming new capital of Chhattisgarh, will have more than 26 percent of its area under greenery, an official said Monday.
“The state government has decided to reserve 26.67 percent area of the total 8.013 hectares land of Naya Raipur under a greenbelt,” N. Baijendra Kumar, vice chairman of Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA), told IANS.
He said that 26.67 percent of the area has been reserved for residential purposes while 12.55 percent has been allocated for traffic facilities.
Baijendra Kumar said that the new capital will be one of India’s best planned and technologically unmatched modern cities with facilities and infrastructure at par with the world’s most advanced cities.
It will be located approximately 20 km east of the existing state capital Raipur, between National Highway-6 and National Highway-43.
