New Delhi : The integrated passenger terminal at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport, which will serve both domestic as well as international passengers, will be completed by the first week of July, officials said Friday.
“The new terminal is very impressive and the modernisation and development works being carried out are near completion. The finishing works and user trials are in progress. However, some plantation work remains to be done,” Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit told reporters after visiting the site Friday.
Also known as Terminal-3, it will be a state-of-the-art integrated passenger terminal featuring modern facilities to make passengers transit smoother and safer than ever before, a Delhi government official said.
The new terminal will also facilitate the visit of a large number of passengers during the Commonwealth Games in October.
The official said the new terminal has vast arrival facilities at ground level, while on the first floor it has departure lounges for domestic and international flights.
“The entire area has been developed systematically to present a pleasing look and provide modern comfort for the passengers.”
