Washington : The United Arab Emirates has invited US companies to explore the opportunities offered by the various sectors of its economy.
The visiting UAE minister of foreign trade, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, reinforced the importance of the US for her country’s commercial and economic strategies.
Addressing the US-UAE Business Council at the UAE embassy here Monday, she said: “We are here today to further formulate new partnerships between our two countries. We invite the US to further expand its exploration into the dynamic UAE market and to tap into opportunities offered by the various sectors of the UAE economy.”
The UAE is the US’s largest overseas market with $12.1 billion worth of goods exported to the UAE in 2009 alone.
The UAE minister will continue her week-long trip in the US meeting with government, business and community leaders across the country. Her visit will focus on US-UAE trade and commercial relations.
