New Delhi : Delhi was Wednesday allocated Rs.11,400 crore for its annual plan for the current fiscal, which lays strong emphasis on development projects and social programmes.
The quantum of the annual plan, which is Rs.200 crore more than what the state had sought, was approved during a meeting between Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
“I am fully satisfied. The allocation was a little more than what was demanded,” Dikshit told reporters here after the two-and-half-hour meeting at Yojna Bhavan, the headquarters of the Planning Commission here. Delhi Finance Minister A.K. Walia also attended.
The higher allocation has also been made in light of the city hosting the Commonwealth Games in October, officials said.
